HiFiTracker is built to help you track hi-fi equipment, components, listening sessions, photos, notes, and component replacement estimates. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how you can control or delete it.
We try to collect only what is needed to run the app, sync your data across your devices, manage subscriptions, improve reliability, and support users.
1. Data We Collect
Account Data
When you create an account or sign in, we may collect:
- Email address
- Display name, if provided by you or your sign-in provider
- Authentication provider information, such as email/password, Google, Apple, or X/Twitter
- User ID and account settings
- Consent preferences, such as analytics or marketing preferences
App Data You Add
HiFiTracker stores the information you enter into the app, including:
- Listening systems
- Equipment
- Components
- Component types
- Listening sessions
- Notes
- Component lifetime values, initial usage, and calculated usage data
- Photos or images you choose to upload for equipment or components
Subscription and Purchase Data
If you start a trial, purchase a subscription, restore purchases, or manage paid access, we may process subscription-related information through RevenueCat, Apple App Store, and Google Play.
This may include:
- App user ID
- Product or subscription identifier
- Entitlement status
- Purchase, renewal, trial, cancellation, and expiration status
- Store transaction identifiers and related purchase metadata
We do not receive or store your full payment card details. Payments are handled by Apple App Store or Google Play.
Device and App Data
We may collect technical data needed to run and protect the app, such as:
- Device type and operating system version
- App version
- Platform, such as iOS or Android
- Time zone or locale-related information
- Crash, diagnostic, and security-related data
- App Check or similar anti-abuse signals
Analytics Data
If analytics collection is enabled, we may use Firebase Analytics to understand how the app is used and to improve reliability and user experience.
Analytics may include events such as screens viewed, features used, app version, and general device information. You can control analytics consent in the app's Settings screen.
2. Data We Do Not Intentionally Collect
HiFiTracker is not designed to collect:
- Precise location
- Contacts
- Microphone recordings
- Audio files
- Payment card numbers
- Public social posts
- Health or fitness data
The app may request camera or photo library access only when you choose to take or select a photo for your equipment or components.
3. How We Use Your Data
We use your data to:
- Create and secure your account
- Let you sign in across supported platforms
- Store and sync your equipment, components, sessions, notes, and photos
- Calculate component usage and replacement estimates
- Manage subscriptions, trials, restore purchases, and paid access
- Provide support and respond to messages
- Improve app reliability, performance, and usability
- Detect, prevent, and investigate fraud, abuse, security issues, and technical problems
- Comply with legal, tax, platform, and regulatory requirements
4. Services That Help Us Run HiFiTracker
We use trusted service providers to operate the app. These may include:
- Firebase Authentication for account sign-in
- Firebase Firestore for app data storage and sync
- Firebase Storage for photos and uploaded images
- Firebase App Check for abuse prevention and app integrity
- Firebase Analytics for optional usage analytics
- RevenueCat for subscription entitlement management
- Apple App Store and Google Play for purchases, trials, billing, renewals, cancellation, and refunds
- Google, Apple, and X/Twitter when you choose to sign in with those providers
- Email and hosting providers used to operate https://hifitracker.app and deliver support email
We do not sell your personal information.
5. Legal Bases for Processing
Depending on where you live, we process data based on one or more of these legal bases:
- Contract: to provide the app and subscription features you request
- Consent: for optional choices such as analytics where consent is required
- Legitimate interests: to secure, maintain, debug, and improve the app
- Legal obligations: to comply with applicable laws, store rules, tax, fraud prevention, and platform requirements
6. Photos and Camera Access
If you choose to take or select a photo, HiFiTracker uses that image only to attach it to your equipment or component records.
The app asks for camera or photo library permission only when needed. You can deny or revoke these permissions in your device settings, but photo-related features may not work without them.
7. Data Sharing
We share data only when needed to run the app, provide purchases, comply with law, or protect the service.
Examples include:
- Storing app data in Firebase
- Sending subscription identifiers and entitlement information to RevenueCat
- Receiving purchase status from Apple App Store or Google Play
- Using sign-in information from Google, Apple, or X/Twitter when you choose those login methods
- Responding to legal requests where required
We do not sell your data, and we do not use your equipment photos or listening history for advertising.
8. Data Retention
We keep your account and app data while your account is active or as needed to provide the service.
If you delete your account, we delete your HiFiTracker account data and user-created app data from active systems where technically possible.
Some data may remain for a limited time in backups, logs, security records, or third-party systems such as Apple, Google, or RevenueCat where needed for legal, tax, fraud prevention, subscription, dispute, or platform compliance reasons.

You can request deletion of your account and app data from the app's Settings screen.

When requesting deletion outside the app, please use the email address associated with your HiFiTracker account so we can identify the account.
10. Your Privacy Choices and Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to:
- Access your personal data
- Correct inaccurate data
- Request deletion
- Request a copy of your data
- Object to or restrict certain processing
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent
- Opt out of sale or sharing where applicable

We aim to respond to legitimate privacy requests within 30 days, or sooner if required by law.
11. Security
We use Firebase security features, authentication, access rules, App Check, and platform security controls to help protect your data.
No system is perfectly secure. Please use a strong password, protect access to your email and sign-in providers, and contact us if you believe your account has been accessed without permission.
12. Children
HiFiTracker is a general-audience app and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at privacy@hifitracker.app so that we can delete it.
13. International Processing
HiFiTracker and its service providers may process and store data in countries other than the country where you live. When required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for international data transfers.
14. Links to Other Services
The app or website may link to third-party websites or services. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, not this Privacy Policy.
15. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When changes are important, we will make reasonable efforts to notify users by updating the app, posting the updated policy, or using another appropriate method.
